- These Pictures were taken on November 22nd,2003 at a Gasoline Tanker
Rollover with Large Spill on Rt 17 at Exit 121 in the Town of Wallkill,
Mechanicstown Fire District, Orange County.
- Command, Chief Paul Smith arrived to confirm an Overturned Gasoline Tanker
leaking heavily. Command immediately requested the Orange County Haz Mat
Team, Crash Truck from Stewart Air Guard and numerous Tankers to ensure
water supply for the Incident.
- Assisting mechanicstown at the scene in addition to the Hazmat Team were
Units from Stewart Air Guard, Slate Hill, New Hampton, City of Middletown,
Silver Lake, Circleville, Maybrook and Montgomery FD's with several others
on standby. Mobile Life Support Services, NYS Encon Police The NYS DEC Spill
Response Team, Orange County Sheriffs, Town of Wallkill PD, Town of Wallkill
Office of Emergency Management, NY State Police and the NYS Thruway
Authority. The clean-up and uprighting and
removal of Truck was handled by Quality Towing of Vails Gate.
